WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR SESSION

  1. ALWAYS CHECK THE WEATHER. Though your attire usually would depend on the type of session, always dress according to the weather. Your nice outfit will not be so nice if its making your uncomfortable (too hot or too cold), and it will definitely show in your photos.

  2. Depending on the season and type of session, certain colors are perfect. I’ve created a Pinterest board to give you some inspiration that I will send in your email but feel free to go with what you like. In the end, these are your photos and these photos is a reflection of you and your unique family. I do recommend not dong the same outfits, instead opt for outfits that belong in the same color family.

  3. NO LOGOS. Please make sure your clothes do not have visible logos or branding in them. They tend to take away attention from what is important in the photos, YOU.

  4. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. We might have to walk to the perfect spot and so I recommend opting or comfy shoes. (Ladies, if you want to wear beautiful heels in photos, pack them instead.)

  5. Let’s keep the accessories to a minimal. Again, chunky accessories can easily take away from you and your family in photos. Less distractions is always better.

HOW TO PREPARE BEFORE YOUR SESSION

  1. Get a good night’s sleep the night before your session. It’s good for photos when everyone is refreshed and recharged.

  2. Do practice smiling. It can be awkward for some to be in front of the camera. Feel free to practice smiling so you know how you’ll like it. With teeth, no teeth, serious or not, figure out what makes you comfortable.

  3. Do bring snacks for the kiddos. Sometimes we need to boost their energy in the middle of the session or maybe for some reinforcements to help kids to cooperate.

  4. Bring a change of clothes in case things get messy.

  5. Chat with the hubby (or anyone that does not want to take part) about the session. Sometimes they can be hesitant to take part but let them know that it is important to capture and cherish these moments. The kids will not stay kids and these photos will give you and your family something to look back to.

  6. Right before the session, remove unnecessary items like: Apple watches, hair ties on wrists, keys and phones on pockets.

  7. Also, there is no need to SAY CHEESE. We are hoping to get natural interactions. I try to capture authentic expressions and genuine moments.

  8. Lastly, RELAX, ENJOY and HAVE FUN WITH IT!

Hopefully you find this guide to be helpful. Thank you for choosing me to capture you and your family. I cannot wait for us to have some fun during the session and have me leave you with beautiful photos that you will enjoy forever.
